ASOS hauls and wants!

I was inspired to put up this post by Jo after knowing of the generous and yummy giveaway she's having! She's giving away £100 worth of ASOS shopping voucher and boy I'm really excited about it.

I've been a poor fan of ASOS and I crave for their worldwide free shipping and sales all the time. I always go onto the website, drool at the items that I really want to purchase, but end up only "bagging" it for later. I can't help but wish that I was working and able to have my eyecandies delivered to me all the way from London.. But anyway, I've been inspired to blog about ASOS and the purchases I've done so far :) The last I bought was a winter coat, just in time for the impending crazy winter in Sydney, and all thanks to free shipping as well! I'm a happy buyer ;)

The first item I bought was a pair of sunnies and it was delivered just in time for summer last year! I've done a similar post before, but I thought I should just compile it again, together with my new purchase. This was the picture taken from ASOS.

It came with this hugeass box that contained the sunnies.

This is how the sunnies look in real life. It was a little too huge for my face, but I like that oversize look each time I wear it. Even though I've worn them heaps of times, I haven't had a proper photo in it before. I shall try to snap some photos when I wear them next time!

Next I bought was a pair of nude clogs! They looked incredible high, was about 5" high and the platform is about an inch maybe?

This is how they look in real life. Not much of a nude colour really, more brownish. But they are really high! They made me feel on top of the world and unstable at the same time :P

Next and last I bought from ASOS was this coat. I was lacking a good and durable coat in my wardrobe and I thought I should invest a good one since winter this year has been unexpectedly weird and crazy. I didn't have time to go do offline shopping in the malls, so I turn to my favourite online shopping for help! This coat came a little too huge, I look almost as though I'm drowning :(, but I still like them very much because they keep me warm.

This is how the coat looks like in real life! It's a little more blue than the picture taken from ASOS, if only it was a better fit for me. I like how the hood looks like a scarf when you connect the opposite buttons together. One coat for many looks, yum!

Unfortunately, that's all I've bought from ASOS all these while. Haven't got enough moolah and time to scan through their enormous catalogue, but I managed to find a couple in my "bag" to share what's on my wishlist!

I first saw this pair of wedges on Kani's blog, but if I remember it right it was a different colour. She had it in this colour too, and I really like the striking nature of this colour! Gives the dull, cold winter a refreshing feel.

Then I searched through the catalogue for more and found more summer wears that I would very much like to buy! :( If only it's summer now, I have more summer clothes than winter ones! Look at the crochet details, so pretty! I like the way it was paired with a denim flared skirt, nice.

Vero Moda Crochet Detail Cardigan

I'm also recently into some olive greenish craze, can't help looking at green cardigan, green shorts, green top, green anything! Another on my list.

ASOS Reversed Stitch Cardigan

Also, pleats are my current favourite design. I like how pleats give the skirt more dimension than just it being flat.

ASOS Knitted Pleated Skirt

I'm currently craving for both the cardigan and the skirt, but I couldn't find the skirt in the catalogue :( Polka dots are also very summerish, don't you think?

ASOS Curved Hem Arran Cardigan

Lastly, another pair of shoes? My shoes are worn out very quickly because I walk a lot! It would definitely help to get a better pair of shoes with good cushioned soles. But, pretty shoes are usually painful to walk around in. Vanity vs pain.

ASOS MARVEL Soft Suede Lace Up Flat Shoes

That's all on my list for now, I'm still searching for bags. It wouldn't harm a bit to have a one more bag, would it? Hehe, I must first persuade Mom that it's a need, not a want, to buy more clothes, shoes and bags! :)

PS: Remember to check out the giveaway on Lost In The Haze

Till next time x.

Edited checklist

This is my second time typing this because wordpress screwed up on me and I didn't published my unsaved version, sigh oh sigh.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As promised, I'm backkkkk even though it was just yesterday that I posted an announcement. Hehe, I can't wait to be up and going and typing again! It actually brings me joy and entertainment by blogging, sometimes I actually wonder why.

First things first, I've edited my previous checklist (see here), just filled it up to 10 so it makes a round figure.

  1. Changed flight back home (Checked!)

  2. Create tumblr, customize and get ready to post (Checked!)

  3. Create formspring, be ready to get blasted (Hmm.....)

  4. Pack my notes, do stock-take for stationaries and toiletries (2/3 checked!)

  5. Take more photos, blog more

  6. Blog about my recent Hong Kong trip in July

  7. Pack the old clothes that I’ve outgrown

  8. Find a driving instructor

  9. Date people

  10. Look forward to HSH and bunny time!

Next, I've finally received my telephoto lens from Hong Kong! I mentioned that I was gonna buy the lens here and here, but I only bought and paid on the 4th of November! I was actually gonna rant a little on that blarrrrdy delivery, because I'm actually quite pissed! Maybe I'll talk about it when when I manage to take some photos of the new lens and how my camera looks like after I fix them up. It looks horrendously long, professional and... a little tacky :( Also, I think there's only a really small difference between with and without the telephotos lens, so I am a little disappointed :(

That aside, here's a set of two photos to tell y'all what I meant by, really small difference. On the left, with the telephoto lens. On the right, without.

I confess that it's not a very good comparison there, because the photo doesn't capture the same view at the same exposure, focal length and aperture (wow at the technical terms). I should have used my mini tripod, but I couldn't reach for it in time before I shot this. Oh bother.

P.S. The red and white flag in the background, that is the flag of Singapore. It's not mine, belongs to my roommate. It's not at a very strategic position, because each time the door slams, the flag goes down onto the floor :/ But it's in a good position when I shot the photos, because that's how I gauge the photos :P

Asos.com haul

Just the other day, Q and I had an impromptu decision to buy some stuff on asos.com. I think it was after we went for the Sportsgirl Style Me Up event that Q got into some mad craze over... feathers! Well, it's an upcoming fashion trend for spring, but I reckon it'll look on weird if I ever buy and wear to uni. Only arts students dress up really nicely to uni >.< I'm really surprised the package came so quick, it only took one week to reach us! Comparing to the BB cream I bought from a Korean seller on ebay, well it's 7 days versus 10 days. Thumbs up for fast shipping from asos.com, shipping costs £10.50.

But what really got us into this was, the exchange rate. Currently AUD is really strong, I've been monitoring it every day. Well, it'll work well for me if I'm earning AUD but now that I'm jobless.... Let's not go into that yet. So with such a strong currency working against me, I should be spending less to save that AUD to earn some interest. Half of me hopes that AUD continues to go strong (that means cheaper US and UK online shopping!!), the other half prays for immediate weak AUD because.. Well changing SGD to AUD will cost so much more now :( Anyway, less shopping now I told myself. My friend has been nagging at me because I trade shopping for meals, I know that's bad..

Anyway, I'm really excited about my haul. Yay and nay to shopping!

My black sunnies actually broke a month back or so, but I had no idea how. I needed a new pair, even though I have an extra one -- that is bright purple though and my friends always feel like an oddball when they walk with me :p So I went through the sunnies list, and there I spotted this! It looks really chic on the model but I just knew that they were too huge for my face. I got it anyway, because the plus point was....

It came with a box! Well, it spells fierce and that was what I was looking for (in a box). Heehee, then I wouldn't just chuck my sunnies into my bag and maybe sit on it without knowing >.<

In its packaging. Totally loving this new pair, costs me £5!

Now, doesn't it look really chic on the model? She totally looks like a mannequin, so cute ^^

This is how huge it is on my puny face :( I was so anxious I didn't realise the sticky was still on >.< Side note, there are so many things on my wall! I love sticking cards and letters and anything my friends gave me.

Then, I bought something else too! A pair of clog heels! :D I so wanted a pair of clogs, but I just can't afford the pair I really wanted. So I compromise with a strappy one, even though it doesn't look like a pair of clogs now. This pair costs me £13 :)

I bought it in blush UK3 heehee. My feet is really small, it's so difficult to buy shoes sometimes. I kinda like this pair, though it makes my feet feel a little squashed (might be a little too tight), and it totally adds 10cm on me! :D I actually took a picture of me wearing it, I know I'm such a camwhore, but I reckon my feet is the ugliest pair with so many marks :( Maybe when I wear it out, I'll take a picture :P

Aside to all that, I really like shopping in Aus and now, asos.com too! I mean like, in other countries and places, they only do exchange within 7 days or so and no refunds. But in Sydney, we get to refund even though within 28 days. That is awesome because sometimes some stuff that I buy are on impulse. So, asos.com has it too! Like you can return the item if.. Style doesn't suit! Hahaha, that is a super good reason for returns ^^

I've actually been feeling really moody these days, it makes me really cranky too. I could be laughing out loud one moment, and crying quietly in my corner. It's not pms I reckon, I just need time and space to sort myself. Thank goodness my asos haul is here, I can divert my excitement to dressing up! Retail therapy works sometimes :)
